Michael Jones , CEO of MySpace and former founder of Userplane, has another exit under his belt today, as AOL announced it has acquired Thing Labs , a San Francisco maker of web-based, social software. This is at least the second time Jones has benefited from an AOL acquisition; his own startup, Userplane, was acquired by AOL in 2006.

Santa Monica-based Tsavo Media , the online media venture of former Userplane founder Michael Jones, announced Thursday that it has acquired an online, user-generated recipe site called OpenSourceFood. Jones was the founder and CEO of Userplane until its acquisition by AOL. Van Natta left Los Angeles-based MySpace in February, leaving the operation of the social networking site to Jason Hirschorn and Michael Jones. Since then, Hirschorn also left MySpace, leaving the Jones at the Helm.

Santa Monica-based Tsavo Media, the new startup venture of former Userplane founder Michael Jones, said Tuesday that it has named Steve Schepke as General Manager of Tsavo Agency, a new unit focused on providing monetization services to content providers.
