DivX Files Another Lawsuit Against Hulu

San Diego-based video software developer DivX has just filed another lawsuit against Los Angeles-based Hulu, alleging patent infringement for its video-streaming and playback technologies. DivX has at least one existing lawsuit it had filed against Hulu. The lawsuit was filed by Robins Kaplan and Brown Rudnick.

Hulu Adds Content Downloads

Los Angeles-based streaming television provider Hulu has finally added the ability for (some) of its subscribers to download content for offline viewing. Hulu said titles available for offline viewing will now show download icons and other details; Hulu said users will be able to download 25 titles at a time for later viewing.

Los Angeles-based streaming television service Hulu has swapped its CEO, saying Tuesday morning that Mike Hopkins has stepped down, and Randy Freer has been named as CEO. Hopkins had been CEO of Hulu since 2013. The two said Freer will be based in Los Angeles. Hopkins is leaving for Sony Pictures Television.
