Tsavo Media Sold For $75M

Los Angeles-based online media firm Tsavo Media , which was founded by Mike Jones, founder of Userplane and current co-President of MySpace, has been sold for $75M to a Canadian firm. According to Toronto-based Cyberplex , it is acquiring Tsavo and its 300 consumer websites for $75M. Cyberplex said that Tsavo had 2009 revenues of approximately $110M and EBITDA of approximately $16.7M, and was generating over 30 million unique visitors per month.

Tsavo Loses Macadaan

New Owner Looks To Sell Tsavo Media, Sees Yahoo Penalty Fees

The new owner of former Los Angeles startup Tsavo Media , Canadian-firm Cyberplex , said today that it is looking for "strategic alternatives" for the unit of the firm, after a fiasco involving Yahoo's traffic quality reporting system. AudioMicro , the Los Angeles-based online marketplace for royalty-free music and sound effects, said today that it has acquired Manhattan Beach-based Audioo , an online voicemail sharing service which was founded by Ben Padnos. Padnos, whose last startup, BetterPPC, was acquired by Tsavo back in 2008, will remain an advisor to the company, and Audioo will become a separate division of AudioMicro.
