What I found out very quickly, is there is a tremendous demand among the independent production community for this information. It turned out that there was tremendous interest in getting financial information about the movie industry. We've found there is a big community of people who need access to our data.

A healthy eco-system of application developers is required for any software or Internet company to be massively successful. And if they can monetize their follower base then they have an incentive to grow their base, Tweet more, engage more and write better quality Tweets. All of them are really sharp on product and market.

First, I believe that Seesmic has an excellent product – especially the web version of their product and that having another senior and experienced exec like Loic Le Meur would be great for Twitter. It also means that the publisher (person writing the status update) can share in the monetization.
