Network router and wireless equipment provider Linksys , which has been part of Cisco since 2003, is now back in Southern California hands, after Playa Vista-based computer accessory maker Belkin said it has completed its acquisition of the company. Cisco and Belkin agreed to the sale in January.

Linksys , the Irvine-based manufacturer of network switches, wireless routers, and other products, has just been sold to Playa Vista-based Belkin , bringing the firm's corporate ownership back to Southern California.

Playa Vista-based Belkin International , and safe drinking water delivery systems developer Uponor said Wednesday that the two have teamed together to create a new, joint venture, called Phyn. Belkin and Uponor said that Phyn will be a standalone entity, using Belkin's former Wemo Water technology as the basis for future products.
