I’ll spend time on Citysearch and Yelp trying to find good new spots to try, but my preference is still to get great recommendation from friends. Bungalow Club – an LA staple for events. The Foundry on Melrose – popular for group events for a reason. But could be nice for a group event. The Tar Pit – SO cute.

I know that would be surprising to many readers since keeping a blog somehow convinces people that I’m a time management or productivity ninja. Yet in LA we have hugely successful entrepreneurs who have built big companies like Overture, CitySearch, MySpace, TicketMaster.com, LowerMyBills, Commission Junction, eHarmony and on and on.

Val and I started this single’s website/blog just for fun and on the side. We began doing singles events, matchmaking, and date coaching. It was Citysearch for women to find guys. As a result, a few months into the business we started doing the singles events and then started to bring in guys more. Entertainment.

I’m an event planner turned lawyer turned entrepreneur. Back in college, I started throwing large events for charities and such. Soon after launching, we started doing crazy monthly singles events and match making and I began to realize that what I had enjoyed as a hobby could now be a full business.
