The first two years of the program focused on education & mentorship. There were regular events where experts talked about: fund raising, term sheets, constructing a team, product development, establishing biz dev partners, M&A, dealing with the press, etc. This education will continue. So we went ahead.

Mark Suster of GRP Partners and Launchpad was confirmed to keynote along with Nely Galan of Galan Entertainment, the first Latina president of Telemundo. Panels: Developer, Arts/Education; Green, Good and Government. Silicon Beach Fest takes place June 19-22, 2013 in Santa Monica. Friday Night parties at Cross Campus and ROC.

My personal favorite and best fit for GRP Partners was Thumbtack. ThereNow has build a platform (physical camera + software platform) to help remote coaches help improve teachers. The classroom activities are recorded and the video is appended with comments from a remote coach. Ambitious goals. Pretty cool.
