Finding Developers is Tough Again

I’m seeing and hearing that it’s becoming tough finding good developers again, at least here in Los Angeles. On Friday, at the LA CTO Forum , I heard from a couple of CTOs having trouble finding good developers. My company, TechEmpower , recently added a few top notch developers, but it wasn’t easy to find just the right people.

Networking Events in Los Angeles and Southern California

Quality of Events Of course, the bigger issue with events is finding the ones where you will have a really good opportunity to network with interesting people. They put on great events. VentureNet – Great annual event by the Technology Council. I guess I should confess that I used to go to a lot more networking events.

Linux (instead of UNIX), Apache (web server software), MySQL (instead of Oracle) and PHP. Of course there were variants – we preferred PostGres to MySQL and many people used other programming languages than PHP. Amazon allowed 22-year-old tech developers to launch companies without even raising capital.
