Torrance-based Physical Optics Corporation (POC), a military, defense, and security integrator, said this morning that it has spun off a new company called Intellisense Systems, Inc. According to POC, Intellisense Systems will also be based in Torrance, and will employ 83 people, with $24M in revenues.

The bulk of the beta testing is expected to take place over the next six months in various locations, including near Canoo’s Torrance, California headquarters, Toyota’s Arizona proving grounds and on public roads in Ohio. Canoo is building a fleet of more than 30 beta vehicles for various types of testing.
