LA Solar Developer PermaCity Acquired By Catalyze

Los Angeles-based solar installer PermaCity--the company which installed the solar panels on the L.A. Convention Center--has been acquired by Colorado-based Catalyze, the companies said on Monday. Financial details of the deal were not announced. Catalyze is backed by EnCap Investments, L.P. and Yorktown Partners LLC, and develops, constructs, and operates renewable power and storage projects for the commercial and industrial market. Catalyze said the deal will help expand its project pipeline, with PermaCity's existing 400 megawatts of project commitments bringing its project pipeline to more than 2 gigawatts. PermaCity was founded in 2003 by Jonathan Port. The company installed the solar roof at Westmont Industrial Complex, the L.A. Convention Center, Fox Studios, and many others.
