MabVax Therapeutics Grants License To Y-mAbs Therapeutics

San Diego-based MabVax Therapeutics said this week that it has granted a sublicense for its technology, to Y-mAbs Therapeutics , a clinical stage biopharmaceuticals company. According to MabVax, it has granted an exclusive sublicense to a bi-valent ganglioside based vaccine intended to treat neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. MabVax said the deal is worth $1.3M, plus additional amounts possible if the FDA approves the vaccine from Y-mAbs.

AeroVironment Teams With NASA On Mars Drone

Monrovia, California-based unmanned aerial vehicle maker Aerovironment said this week that it is collaborating with the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory , to develop a drone which can fly on Mars. According to Aerovironment, the Mars Helicopter is now in production at JPL, with plans to fly the drone on Mars in less than three years. AeroVironment said that flying on Mars is very similar to flying at nearly 100,000 feet on Earth, with the same air density.

Boston Scientific Continues M&A Streak with $202M Deal for Cryterion

Boston Scientific is adding on to its heart rhythm management business again, this time with a deal to acquire atrial fibrillation device startup Cryterion Medical for $202 million. The cash payment covers the 65 percent of Cryterion that the Marlborough, MA, medical device giant does not already own. Boston Scientific (NYSE: BSX ) had been an investor in Cryterion, based in Carlsbad, CA, since it launched in 2016.
