Report: Amazon Set To Open Warehouse In Ventura County

Amazon.com is getting set to open up a new "fulfillment center", this time in Ventura County, in the city of Thousand Oaks, according to local paper The Acorn. According to the report, Amazon has leased space in the Conejo Spectrum Business Park, and is now advertising for such positions as driver trainer, warehouse fulfillment associate and sortation associate.

CoreLogic: Hurricane Lane Threatens 48,000 Homes

Irvine-based property information provider CoreLogic is estimating this morning that Hurricane Lane, currently spinning not far from Hawaii's Big Island as Category 4 storm, threatenes more than 48,000 homes in Hawaii--with a reconstruction value of more than $8 billion. According to CoreLogic, its analysis, which includes only single-family residential properties, attempts to determine those likely to be impacted by a lower category storm.

According to TaskUs, it expects to create nearly 700 jobs in downtown Albuquerque, for a new Technical Operations and Customer Experience Center. TaskUs has been rapidly expanding outside of Southern California, including hiring nearly 2,000 people at three locations in Texas--not to mention its vast overseas operations in the Philippines.

San Diego-based DexCom has acquired TypeZero Technologies , a developer of diabetes management systems and technology, the company said late Wednesday. According to DexCom, which makes continuous glucose monitoring devices, the deal will help it enhance its offerings with tools to simplify diabetes management. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced.
