After pulling in around $80 million last year in revenue, LA’s StackCommerce is acquired by TPG’s Integrated Media Company

The Los Angeles-based commerce and content platform StackCommerce has been acquired by the Integrated Media Company, a holding company set up by the massive private equity fund, TPG, to acquire new media businesses. StackCommerce’s affiliate buying platform has distributed more than $175 million on its platform by going directly to merchants. Through its platform publishers can make between 15% to 20% of gross compared with 5% on an affiliate marketing site.

Los Angeles-based fintech venture capital investor Core Innovation Capital is nearing its $125M target for its third fund, Core Innovation Capital III, according to recent regulatory filings from the company. The venture firm--led by Arjan Schutte and Kathleen Utecht--makes investment in finance related technology companies. The company has been working on its fundraising since 2018, but only recently updated its filings to indicate it has now raised $117.2M as part of a targeted $125.0M fund.

SpaceX Destroys Another Starship In Flight Test

Hawthorne, California-based SpaceX has destroyed another one of its prototype Starship space rockets on Tuesday, after a Starship SN9 failed to land properly in Bolsa Chica, high altitude test. A livestream of the launch of the Starship SN9 prototype showed the rocket successfully launching, but failing to arrest its descent, resulting in a fireball after the rocket exploded when it touched the ground.

The company said the new software helps provide automatic resolution of repetitive questions to IT and HR teams from within Slack. Slack is a very popular communication tool for companies.
