Two, Los Angeles area investors--venture investment firm Greycroft Pratners , and angel investor Paige Craig --are among the investors seeing an exit today, as Adobe said acquired blog commenting tools maker LiveFyre. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Paige Craig--as well as a number of other angels--originally seeded LiveFyre back in 2010.

Maana , a startup developing big data analytics software--which is backed by San Juan Capistrano-based Frost Data --has raised $26M in a Series B strategic funding round from a host of big oil companies. According to Maana, the strategic funding was led by Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures, and also included Shell Technology Ventures, GE Ventures, Chevron Technology Ventures, Intel Capital, along with Frost Data Capital.

Hulu Plans Online Cable TV Service, Says Report

Los Angeles-based television streaming service Hulu is planning a new, live, cable-style broadcasting service, according to a report published by the WSJ. The report says the new service would stream feeds of major broadcast and cable stations to its users, via a new subscription service. Hulu reportedly is near an agreement with Walt Disney Co. and 21st Century Fox on providing content for the service.

Sorrento Therapeutics Gets $10M In Private Placement From Yuhan

San Diego-based biopharmaceuticals developer Sorrento Therapeutics says it has raised $10M more, in a private placement from South Korean company Yuhan Corporation. The deal had been announced earlier. Sorrento Therapeutics is developing treatments for cancer and other conditions. Sorrento said that Yuhan purchase 1,801,802 shares of common stock at $5.55 per share and a warrant to purchase 235,294 shares of common stock.

Ionis Pharmaceuticals Sells Rights To Pharmaceutical Product

Carlsbad-based Ionis Pharmaceuticals said today that Kastle Therapeutics has acquire dthe rights to develop and commercialize its KYNAMRO (mipomersen sodium) injection, which is used to lower cholesterol in the blood. The companies said the deal is worth up to $95M, and is split beween $15M in an upfront payment, a $10M milestone payment three years from today, and up to $70M based on sales milestones.

San Diego-based diabetes monitoring products maker Dexcom ha acquired Nintamed , a medical products distributor with a presence in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, the company said Monday afternoon. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Nintamed was Dexcom's exclusive distributor in those countries for the past six years. Dexcom said Nintamed will work closely with its international headquarters in Edinburgh, Scotland.
