Tinder Users' Hot Date Night Hindered By Facebook Privacy Changes

Users of popular dating app Tinder might have just lost that opportunity for a hot date they were setting up tonight, after widespread privacy changes by Facebook on Wednesday apparently took some logins offline for Tinder users. Tinder--which is developed in Los Angeles--told users a "technical issue" was preventing logins into Tinder, and that it was working on the issue.

Lasergen, With Office In San Diego, Acquired By Agilent For $105M

Lasergen , a startup developing technology for the DNA sequencing market--and which has an office in San Diego--has been acquired by Agilent Technologies for $105M, the two said late Tuesday. Agilent already owned a 48 percent ownership stake in Lasergen, as part of an investment it made in March of 2016. Agilent said the buy will help it grow in the diagnostics space and build a complete routine clinical NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) workflow.

Snap Sued By BlackBerry Over Patents

Venice, California-based Snap has been sued by BlackBerry Ltd. , in a patent infringement suite filed with the U.S. District Court, Central District of California (Los Angeles)--the result of a patent litigation push by BlackBerry Ltd. as it seeks new revenue sources. The lawsuit, BlackBerry Ltd. v. Snap Inc., looks similar to another lawsuit filed by Blackberry last month against Facebook, alleging Snapchat's app uses messaging technology owned by the company.

Versant Sells Inception's Neuroscience Program To Roche
