ZipRecruiter Approaches Unicorn Territory, Reportedly Raises $50M More

Santa Monica-based online employment marketplace ZipRecruiter has reportedly raised $50M in a Series B funding round, which values the company just shy of $1 billion, according to reports this morning. The investment round--not yet confirmed by ZipRecruiter--was reportedly led by current investor IVP. Biotech billionaire Patrick Soon-Shiong has acquired both the Los Angeles Times and the San Diego Union Tribune , in a deal worth $500M in cash, from current owner Tronc. Verastem has filed for FDA approval of duvelisib, a blood cancer drug the Boston company took a shot on in a 2016 bargain deal with Infinity Pharmaceuticals. Verastem will seek approval of duvelisib as a treatment for patients who have one of three different blood cancers—chronic lymphocytic leukemia, small lymphocytic lymphoma, or follicular lymphoma—and haven’t responded to other treatment.
