Raken Gets $2M For Construction Reporting Software

San Diego-based Raken has raised $2M in a funding round, for the company's construction reporting and compliance software. The funding was led by Rincon Venture Partners , and also included Eniac Ventures and Spider Capital. Raken is led and was co-founded by CEO Kyle Slager and CTO/CPO Dr. Sergey Sundukovskiy. The company develops cloud-based software used to help monitor construction project progress and compliance, and was founded in 2013.

Thinkbox Software Acquired By Amazon AWS

Thinkbox Software , a developer of software used to manage video rendering tools used in film production, and which has an office in Los Angeles, has been acquired by Amazon Web Services. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Thinkbox was based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The company said it was "business as usual" for the company, whose products include rendering tool software Krakatoa, compute management software Deadline, and many others.

CoreLogic Promotes COO To CEO Post After CEO's Sudden Death

Irvine-based property information and data provider CoreLogic announced this morning that it has named Frank Martell, most recently Chief Operating Officer of the company, to the role of CEO, following the sudden loss of its CEO, Anand Nallathambi. Nallathambi died after a short illness on March 2nd. Martell has been named President and CEO, and was also appointed to the company's board.
