HyperX Signs Brazilian Soccer Player In Endorsement Deal


Fountain Valley-based gaming products maker HyperX , which is part of Kingston Technology, says it has signed up its very first Brazilian "gaming ambassador", soccer player Casemiro. Casemiro plays for Real Madrid and the Brazil national team. According to HyperX, Casemiro--who is now based in Madrid--will use HyperX products while gaming in his free time. Financial arrangements behind the deal were not announced.

Newegg In Sponsorship Deal For HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas


Los Angeles-based online technology products retailer Newegg has inked a long term marketing agreement with e-sports entertainment company Allied Esports , and will become the "official e-commerce partner" at the HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas. Financial details of the sponsorship deal were not announced. According to Newegg, its branding will be displayed prominently throughout the venue, as well as on the arena's official website, social channels and live streams.

Spark Networks Acquires Zoosk For $255M


Spark Networks , the online dating company which was started in West Los Angeles, and now has operations globally, said on Thursday that it has agreed to acquire dating site Zoosk. Spark said it will pay $255M in a combination of cash and stock for Zoosk, split between $150M in stock (in American Depository Shares) and $95M in cash at closing, plus $10M in a deferred cash payment in December of 2020. Spark said it will more than double in size as a result of the acquisition.

Semtech Powers New Radio IC For Hearing Aids


Camarillo-based semiconductor developer Semtech and hearing aid manufacturer Sonova announced this morning that the two have teamed up to create brand new, advanced radio systems which will power a new generation of hearing aids from Sonova. According to the two, they have created an ultra-small, integrated circuit (IC) which provides IoT connectivity and uses Semtech's LoRa protocol.
