URB-E Gets $5M For Urban Delivery Network

Los Angeles-based URB-E, a startup developing a "last mile" urban delivery network based on containers and bicycles, has raised $5M in a Series A funding round, the company said today. According to the company, the funding was led by UBS Group. URB-E says it is developing a "containerized" delivery network in urban areas, focused on small container systems which are rolled on and off into parking spaces, and where the last mile is delivered via bicycle.

Los Angeles-based Bionaut Labs, a startup that says it has created "microscale robots" which can deliver biologics, nucleic acids, or small molecule therapies into a person's brain, says it has raised $20M in a funding round. The funding was led by Khosla Ventures, and also included Upfront Ventures, Revolution, BOLD Capital, and Compound. The company says its robots are remote controlled, and are initially focused on treatments of glioma and Huntington's disease.
