BayWa r.e. Completes 250MW Wind Farm In Texas

Renewable energy developer BayWa r.e. , which has its US headquarters in Carlsbad, says it has completed construction of a 250 MW wind farm in Texas. According to the company, its Amadeus Wind project in Texas is located northwest of Abilen in Rotan, and has begun selling power into the grid. The new wind project is expected to supply enough energy to power more than 74,800 homes annually, and is its largest wind project completed to date.

Carlsbad-based satellite communictions provider Viasat announced this morning that it is in a definitive agreement to acquired RigNet , a provider of communications and connectivity services for the oil and gas industry. Accrding to ViaSat, the deal is worth aproximately $222M, and was an all-stock deal. RigNet was based in Houston, Texas.
