Shoreline Biosciences Names Chief Business Officer

San Diego-based biotechnology company Shoreline Biosciences said this morning that it has named Scott Forrest, Ph.D., as its Chief Business Officer. Forrest was most recently Chief Financial Officer at Autobahn Therapeutics, and also served at Inception Therapeutics, the Versant Ventures company building biotech companies. He also previously served at such companies at Lycia Therapeutics, Pipeline Therapeutics, Chinook Therapeutics and Ventus Therapeutics, among many others.

Day-J Finds $2.1M Funding For Health, Wellness Coaching

Los Angeles-based Day-J, a new startup offering up health and wellness coaching from experts, said this morning that it has raised a pre-seed round of funding worth $2.1M. The funding came from Raine Ventures, Fuel Capital, and Watertower Ventures. According to the startup, it offers up its users access to a "personalized team of licensed coaches and health and wellness experts" through subscription.

FitOn pumps up its fitness platform with $18M in Delta-v Capital-led funding

Carving out 45 minutes or an hour for a workout can be difficult between work, home and daily life. Digital fitness and wellness company FitOn was created to provide 15- or 20-minute workouts aimed at getting people moving in whatever time they can make. The company closed on an $18 million Series B round of funding, led by Delta-v Capital, with participation from existing investors Accel, Telstra Ventures, Crosscut Ventures, Maverick Ventures and Second Avenue Partners.
