Bird Collects Scooters In North Carolina Ahead Of Hurricane

Santa Monica-based on-demand scooter rental company Bird is collecting all of its local scooters in Raleigh, North Carolina, ahead of the arrival of Hurricane Florence, according to local reports. Bird apparently was asked to collect the scooters so they would not be hazard as the Category 4 hurricane comes ashore, by the City of Raleigh. Raleigh--like many other cities-- suddenly saw the appearance of Bird's scooters in July.

Coral Launches Vacuum Robot

Los Angeles-based Coral , a new robotics startup founded by Ted and George Ko, said today that it has launched pre-sales of a new, robotic vacuum cleaner called the Coral One. The company--which says it was founded in March--says its $649 robot is a "2-in-1" vacuum and offers both robotic vacuum cleaning as well as can be used as a handheld vacuum. The company says it will start shipping its robot in October.

CoreLogic: Hurricane Florence Threatens 759,000 Homes With Storm Damage
