ATTOM: Foreclosure Filings Surge In Q3 2021

Irvine-based ATTOM, the unit of RealtyTrac which tracks foreclosure data, says that foreclosure filings for the U.S. have increased 68 percent from a year ago, and are up 34 percent from the previous quarter. The uptick in foreclosure starts come as a result of the retreat of foreclosure moratorium and mortgage forbearance programs. According to ATTOM, there were total of 45,517 U.S. properties with foreclosure filings - default notices, scheduled auctions or bank repossessions in Q3.

Los Angeles-based Universal Hydrogen Co., and aerospace startup which is looking to use hydrogen as fuel for aircraft, has raised $62M in a funding round, the company said this morning. The funding included Mitsubishi HC Capital, Tencent, Stratos, GE Aviation, Waltzing Matilda Aviation, Fourth Realm, Hawktail, Marc Benioff's TIME Ventures, Jeff Wilke, and Spencer Rascoff's 75 and Sunny Ventures.

Mindbody Raises $500M, Acquires ClassPass

San Luis Obispo-based software developer Mindbody said on Wednesday that it has raised $500M in a strategic investment, and acquired ClassPass, a monthly subscription service which provides access to fitness and wellness experiences. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced however, the two said the acquisition will be an all-stock deal, with ClassPass continuing to operate its app and website.
