Real estate website Zillow , known for its "Zillow Zestimate" home valuation tool and other related real estate services, is planning to open a new office in Orange County, and also plans to ramp up hiring in the new office. According to Zillow, it plans to open a new office at 2600 Michelson Dr. later this summer, where it will be hiring sales people with experience in Internet marketing and software.

MGM In Deal With YouTube

A new content distribution deal between Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and YouTube , announced over the weekend, will bring over 600 new titles for rent to YouTube and Google Play, the two firm said Sunday. YouTube and MGM said that the deal will bring such titles as "Terminator", "Robocop", and "Rocky" to both YouTube and Google's recently renamed Android app and content marketplace.

Nukona Acquired By Symantec

San Diego-based Nukona , a developer of mobile application management software, has been acquired by security software giant Symantec. Symantec said it completed the acquisition this morning. The deal had originally been announced in April. Symantec said that Nukona will bolster Symantec's enterprise mobility software portfolio. Nukona had been founded by Chris Perrett, Jeff Enderwick, and Brad Murdoch.

WD Ships Speedy 1TB Drive

Irvine-based Western Digital said this morning that it is shipping a new, 1TB hard drive, the VelociRaptor 1 TB, aimed at high performance PCs and workstations. The firm said the new 10,000 RPM SATA hard drive is aimed at applications such as video editing and digital content creation and management. The new product lists at $319.99, and there are also 500GB and 250GB versions of the hard drive available.

Broadcom Adds New 10GBASE-T PHY

Irvine-based semiconductor maker Broadcom announced this morning that it has shipped a new line of 10GBASE-T PHYs this morning. The chips--used for 10GB Ethernet switches, server adapters, and LAN on Motherboard (LOM) applications--are pin compatible with Broadcom's earlier devices, but consume 50 percent less power than its earlier line. Broadcom said the new chips will help data centers reduce their power costs and carbon footprint.
