According to Google, each startup in the Backstage Accelerator will gain access to Google advisors and product experts, onsite workshops in Google spaces, and access to the Google network of resources and support.

Crowdstrike Bumps Estimated Initial IPO Range

In an indication of strong demand, CrowdStrike , the cybersecurity software developer which was founded in Orange County, has bumped its IPO pricing range to between $23.00 and $30.00 per share. The pricing is a big bump from an earlier, $19.00 to $23.00 per share the company set last week. CrowdStrike has applied to list as CRWD on the Nasdaq Global Select Market. The IPO is being underwritten by Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC, J.P.

Report: Bird Negotiating To Buy Scoot

According to an unconfirmed report on Wednesday, Santa Monica-based on-demand scooter rental startup Bird is in the midst of talks to acquire another, on-demand scooter company, Scoot. The deal has not yet closed, and financial details of the potential effort were unclear. According to the report, Scoot was last valued at around $71M, and had raised $47M in total funding.

Grail’s Cook Steps Down, Former Juno Executive Bishop Named CEO

Grail CEO Jennifer Cook has stepped down from the cancer diagnostics developer and its board of directors. Menlo Park, CA-based Grail said Thursday that Cook left due to “family health reasons.” The company appointed Hans Bishop as her successor. Bishop, a Grail director since last August, is the founder and former president and CEO of Juno Therapeutics, which was acquired by Celgene (NASDAQ: CELG ) last year.
