Independent Technology Group Acquired By InterVision Systems

Westlake Village-based Independent Technology Group , a provider of information technology services, including networking, storage, and security services, has been acquired by Santa Clara, California-based InterVision Systems. InterVision is owned by private equity investor Huron Capital. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. ITG was led by Kevin Barker and Doug Martin, who the companies said will remain active in the business.

The three patent infringement suits were filed in the San Diego Office of the California Southern District Court, and allege infringement on 16 Qualcomm patents.

Leaf Group Names New CFO

Santa Monica-based Leaf Group Ltd. , the operator of Society6, Saatchi Art, Livestrong, eHow, and other sites, said late Thursday that it has named Jantoon Reigersman as its new Chief Financial Officer. Reigersman was most recently CFO of Ogin, and also worked at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. Leaf Group said Reigersman will begin his new role on December 11th.

SpaceX Delays Launch Of Falcon Heavy To 2018

Hawthorne-based SpaceX has delayed the first launch of its giant, Falcon Heavy rocket to sometime early next year, the company disclosed this week. SpaceX had hoped to launch the big rocket this year. The Falcon Heavy would be the biggest rocket in existence, using 27 of the Merlin D engines--the same engines used in the SpaceX Falcon. SpaceX has said the first launch of the Falcon Heavy will not carry any customer payloads, and Elon Musk has said there is "a lot of risk" with this first flight.
