The Series A funding came from Medcxi. Size of the funding was not announced. VY Esports said the seed funding was led by Raine Ventures, and also included Courtside Ventures, Elysian Park Ventures, and others. Blair Ford of Raine Ventures joins the company's board as part of the funding.

Los Angeles-based Fandango announced Friday morning that has acquired online movie ticketing service MovieTickets.com. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. According to Fandango, it expects the deal to close in Q4 of 2017. Fandango said the acquisition will help it provide full national coverage, and add such exhibitors as National Amusements, Cineplex, Landmark Theatres and Marquee Cinemas, as well as many independent theater chains to Fandango's ticketing network.
