Startup Boost Los Angeles has opened up applications for its Fall 2019 class, according to the group. The programs--which does not charge fees or take equity from companies in its program--says it is seeking nine early stage startups to take part in its eight-week program, designed to help early stage startups. Startup Boost Los Angeles says its program includes six weekly workshop sessions and one demo night hosted by Google, in Venice.

SeekOps , a developer of drone-based sensor systems to locate natural gas emissions that was spun out of NASA's JPL Laboratories in Pasadena, has raised funding in a Series A-1 round, the company said on Friday. The company said the investment came from the OGCI Climate Investments fund (OCGI CI), and Equinor Technology Ventures (ETV), the venture arm of Norwegian multinational energy company Equinor.

Santa Barbara-based Sonos , the developer of user-friendly, whole home speakers, has rolled out its first outdoor speaker, a battery powered speaker called the Sonos Move. Sonos said the new portable speaker, which costs $399, will be available globally starting September 24th. According to Sonos, the new speaker is rated for falls, bumps, rain and moisture, dust and dirt, UV and extreme temperatures and features a rating of IP56.
