CalAmp Powers Pallet Tracking Platform

Irvine-based CalAmp , a provider of telematics products, is applying its technology to track wooden pallets, to improve supply chain and logistics visibility. According to CalAmp, it has partnered with Pallet Alliance, where its iON Tags, gateways, and its telematics cloud will be used to track wooden pallets. Financial details of the partnership were not announced.

Factual Connects Location Data Into AWS Data Exchange

Los Angeles-based location data provider Factual said Wednesday evening that it has made its Places data available in the AWS Data Exchange, a new service rolled out by Amazon Web Services (AWS) to allow its customers access to third party data via the cloud. According to Factual, AWS customers can discover and purchase access to its Places data sets, which includes information on over 130 million places and points of interest across 52 countries.

Hawthorne-based SpaceX appears to be back on track to launching astronauts into space, after successful completion of a static firing test of the Crew Dragon on Wednesday. According to NASA, the static fire engine testing come in advance of an in-flight launch escape demonstration, known as an In-Flight Abort Test, which is one of the requirements of using the Crew Dragon for NASA astronauts.
