The new funding came from Fidelity Management & Research Company and JS Capital LLC, along with Foresite Capital and Venrock. Report: Amazon Takes Aim At Honey, Labels Extension A Security Risk

Los Angeles-based Honey , the developer of a browser extension which searches out coupon codes and deals for users, has been labeled a security risk by Amazon , according to a report from Wired. Honey was recently purchased for $4 billion by PayPal. It's unclear why Amazon might be targeting Honey, however, Honey uses affiliate codes as part of its model to provide rebates to users, and likely has been gathering an outsized portion of those e-commerce revenues from online merchants.
