Technology infrastructure launchpad The Fabric raises $15 million

The Fabric, an early-stage investment company developing new infrastructure technologies, has raised $15 million for its third investment vehicle. Announced at the Montgomery Summit in Santa Monica, Calif., the new financing came from Verizon Ventures (the investment arm of TechCrunch’s parent company’s parent company) and March Capital Partners a Los Angeles-based venture capital firm.

Amplify Adds Two New Companies To Portfolio

Venice, California-based Amplify LA , the startup investor which got its start as one of LA's first startup accelerators, said this week that it has added two new companies-- Kulagy and Tapcart --as part of its portfolio of companies. Financial details of any investment in the two startups were not announced. Kulagy helps connect physical therapists with patients, and bills itself as the "world's first mobile physical therapy clinic".

AeroVironment Wins $44.5M Contract

Monrovia-based unmanned aircraft systems developer AeroVironment reports that it has received a big, $44.5M contract for its Puma II AE platform, with an un-nnamed, major country in the Middle East. According to Aerovironment, the deal is the largest-ever international contract for the company. Aerovironment's Puma AE is being used for both ground and maritime operations, according to the company.
