Microsoft, Disney Link On Cloud, Technology Deal

The Walt Disney Studios , in Burbank, and technology giant Microsoft Corp. are in a new deal where the two will work together, where Disney will work with Microsoft on ways to create, produce and distribute content on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, the companies announced on Friday morning. According to the companies, they are in a five year "innovation partnership" to develop 'scene-to-screen' content workflows, which will include a technology hub called The Walt Disney Studios StudioLAB.

Uber Pulls JUMP Scooters From San Diego

Uber has pulled the on-demand JUMP scooters it runs in San Diego from the city this week, over frustration over the city's new rules over dockless scooters, which include permits, fees, and data sharing requirements. Those new rules--which include a fixed fee over around $5000 and per-scooter charges of around $150 per device--is an attempt by San Diego to rein in rampant scooters in the city.

Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Future Media said the acquisition is its first foray into consumer sales. According to Activision, the beta of its title is available to PlayStation 4 players, giving and early access look to its new, multi-player features. The title--being developed for Activision by game studio Infinity Ward--will allow users playing on both gaming consoles and PC platforms to play together.
