CUDDLY Connects With Funding For Software For Animal Rescue Groups

Seal Beach-based CUDDLY , a developer of software and technology to help non-profit, animal rescue organizations, announced on Tuesday afternoon that it has received an investment from an angel investor. CUDDLY said the investment came from Greg Kidd, the co-founder and CEO of globaliD, and founding partner of investment firm Hard Yaka. Size of the investment was not announced.

RepairSmith Launches In LA, Backed By Funding From Daimler AG

Los Angeles-based RepairSmith , which offers mobile automotive maintenance and repair services, has launched its services in Los Angeles and San Francisco, the company said on Wednesday. The startup is backed by Daimler AG, and offers up online pricing of services, online scheduling, and servicing of a vehicle at a customer's home, work, or at a shop. Size of the investment by Daimler AG was not announced, although RepairSmith called the the backing a "major investment commitment".

Procore Adds 3D Model Support

Carpinteria-based Procore Technologies , which develops construction management software, has added a new, 3D modeling product-- Procore BIM --which lets teams access 3D models at construction job sites. According to Procore, the new product provides access to Building Information Modeling (BIM) on Apple iOS devices, including iPads and iPhones. Pricing on the new software was not announced.

Qualcomm Taps Former Palo Alto Networks CEO as Board Chairman

Wireless giant Qualcomm has appointed Mark McLaughlin , the former CEO of network security company Palo Alto Networks, as chairman of its board of directors. McLaughlin joined Silicon Valley-based Palo Alto Networks (NYSE: PANW ) as president and CEO in 2011, ahead of its 2012 IPO. He served as the company’s top executive through June 2018. Prior to his time at Palo Alto Networks, McLaughlin was CEO of Internet infrastructure company Verisign (NASDAQ: VRSN ).

WeWork , the co-working space operator which has a significant presence across Southern California, has filed for an IPO, saying this morning that it is looking to raise up to $1,000,000,000 in a public offering. The company is looking to trade under the symbol WE, but has not yet selected an exchange. The IPO is being underwritten by J. Morgan, Goldman Sachs & Co., BofA Merrill Lynch, Barclays, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, HSBC, UBS Investment Bank, and Wells Fargo Securities.
