Customers can already place an order for the Tesla Model Y, a mid-sized crossover SUV that won’t go into production until 2020. Tesla requires a $2,500 deposit to complete the order for the all-electric vehicle, according to information posted on its website.

Bird Cuts Five Percent Of Staff, Says Report

Santa Monica-based scooter rental service Bird has laid off approximately 5% of its full-time staff, according to a report on Thursday, in what has been attributed to an effort to "contain costs". The report said 40 people were laid off. The move follows similar cuts over at the scooter department of Lyft, which laid off approximately 50 people in its bicycle and scooter operations, just ahead of an expected IPO filing.

Report: Jam City's Harry Potter Game Reaches $110M In Spending

A new report, from market analysis firm Sensor Tower, says that Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery , the Harry Potter-themed mobile game developed by Los Angeles-based JamCity , has now collected $110M in player spending, in less than a year. The report says that the title is now Jam City's most lucrative title, representing 30 percent of its revenues across the App Store and Google Play.
