Irvine-based renewable energy developer BayWa r.e. Solar Projects said this morning that it is breaking ground on a new, 133.6 megawatt solar power project in North Carolina. The company said that the Fern Solar project in Edgecombe County, North Carolina is the largest project it has developed and built to date in the United States. The company said the plant will produce and estimated 238 gigawatt hours of clean energy annually, enough to power approximately 12,000 homes in North Carolina.

El Segundo-based plant-based meat alternative developer Beyond Meat is launching new versions of its Beyond Burger, its hamburger alternative, with a new, juicier version of its burger which it says has 35 percent less saturated fat than a burger made from 80/20 beef, as well as a version of its burger which it says has 55 percent less saturated fat than a typical beef burger.
