Iteris Wins $1M Contract In Texas

Santa Ana-based Iteris , which develops products used in transportation management, reports that it has been awarded $1M in a contract in the City of Round Rock, Texas. According to Iteris, the company's products will be used for a smart mobility initiative. Round Rock is the city where Dell Computer is headquartered. Iteris said that the contract covers "mobility intelligence solutions and video detection technology updates" throughout the city.

TeleSign Links With Skype On Robocall Screening

Los Angeles-based TeleSign said on Wednesday that it is in a new partnership with Microsoft's Skype , to screen robocalls. According to TeleSign, Skype will implement Telesign's digital identity solution, called Score, to take action against calls that are likely of a fraudulent origin. Financial details of the partnership were not announced. TeleSign said that its Score software behaves as an "inbound spam filter", as well as other kinds of communications fraud.

Foothill Ranch-based TAE Life Sciences , which is developing boron-based radiation therapy drugs for the treatment of cancer, has raised $30M in what it says is an initial, Series B funding round. The company said the funding comes from a consortium of investors, including ARTIS Ventures. The company said the new funding will allow it to further accelerate development of its products.
