Los Angeles-based Smarty, a developer of a web browser extension for automatically applying coupons to e-commerce sites, says it has launched a new, mobile app. According to the company, the app runs on both iOS and Android. The company said the apps run just like its desktop browser extensions, with users shopping on their mobile devices with the company's app automatically applying coupon codes and cashback purchases at participating merchants.

EnGenius Rolls Out Cloud Security Products

Costa Mesa-based wireless access point developer EnGenius Technologies said this week that it has launched two new products that offer up cloud-managed security. AppliedVR Snags $36M More For VR Healthcare

Los Angeles-based AppliedVR, a startup that is using virtual reality to treat chronic pain, has raised $36M in a Series B funding round, the company said Thursday. The Series B funding came from F-Prime Capital, JAZZ Venture Partners, Sway Ventures and SVB Ventures. AppliedVR says it has now raised $71M in total for its virtual reality platform, which it says helps people reduce their pain and help them learn skills for managing pain in the real world.
