Lucid Sight Buys Colyseus

Los Angeles-based Lucid Sight, which developings videogames, said it has acquired the open source, multiplayer game engine Colyseus. According to Lucid Sight, it will be taking over the Colyseus brand, GitHub, and all social and support channels, and Colyseus creator Endel Dreyer will join its team. Lucid Sight said over 3,000 developers are active in the Colyseus community channels.

Xos Plans $2 Billion SPAC For Electric Trucks

Los Angeles-based Xos, a relatively unknown, new electric truck startup, has agreed to go public at a $2 billion valuation, via a SPAC offering, according to reports. The company--which had just raised $20M--will be acquired in a reverse merger with NextGen Acquisition Corp. The deal will raise $220M in funding, with investors reportedly including Janus Henderson Group Plc and a group of truck dealers led by Thompson Truck Centers.

The company said the titles--The Lost Vikings, Rock N Roll Racing, and Blackthorne--are available on Windows PC, Battle.net, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. The games were originally released more than thirty years ago, when Blizzard was just getting started as a company.
