Lionsgate Inks Major Film Deal On Steam

Santa Monica-based studio Lionsgate said Monday that it has inked a deal to offer up a library of films to Steam , the digital distribution platform run by Valve. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The deal will bring such films as Hunger Games, Twilight, Saw and Divergent to the Steam platform, best known for its videogame streaming.

Patch of Land Names New CEO

Los Angeles-based online real estate marketplace Patch of Land said today that it has named Paul Deitch as ts new CEO. Deitch was previously Managing Director at Oaktree Capital Management. The company said that its co-founder and former CEO, Jason Fritton, has become Executive Chairman of the company. The company said the move comes as it has passed $100M in lending activity.

Carlsbad-based Nimble Software Systems , the maker of NimbleSchedule , a cloud-based software product for employee scheduling and tracking tools, has raised $4M in a Series A funding. The funding came from SEEK LTD. Nimble Software said the funding goes towards technology development, marketing, and global expansion. Nimble's employee scheduling tools are aimed that retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, government and services areas.

Los Angeles-based Stratalux , a provider of cloud-based, managed services for Amazon Web Services (AWS), said it has acquired Tojo Media , a company which specializes in building software for media and entertainment clients to be used in the Amazon AWS public cloud. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. As part of the acquisition, Stratalux said it has hired Joseph Hunt, who had led Tojo Media, as its new VP of Engineering.
