Beverly Hills-based Livestream , a provider of online live video broadcasting tools, has been acquired by online video service Vimeo , Vimeo announced on Tuesday. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Vimeo is owned by IAC. Livestream had raised around $14.7M in total investment, and ites investors have included Gannett Co. and others.

Biomed Incubator Watershed Develops Tech for IDing Medical Devices

San Antonio — A biomedical product developer, Watershed Idea Foundry, has created a method of identifying medical devices that have been implanted in the body that uses 3-D printing and its own software. The technology, which Watershed calls structural encoding, prints 3-D codes onto small metal markers that are frequently included in medical devices, which help locate an implant in the body with an X-ray or MRI.

Kyriba , the financial software developer which got its start in San Diego, where it still has major operations, said today that it has raised $45M more in a funding round, led by Sumeru Equity Partners (SEP). The funding also included Bpifrance, Iris Capital, Daher Capital and HSBC. Kyle Ryland, Managing Partners at SEP, joins the company's board as part of the funding.

Soraa Gets Install In Tokyo Museum

Soraa , the UC Santa Barbara spinout which develops LED lighting technology, says it has installed its lamps at the Idemitsu Museum of Arts in Tokyo, Japan. Soraa said it was specifically selected to replace "dated" halogen lamps. Financial impact of the win was not announced. Soraa said it has developed LED lighting technology to offer "optimal" rendition of colors and shades of white.
