San Diego-based last mile transportation startup Wheels , which offers up on-demand bicycles, has raised $50M in a new round of funding, the company said today. The funding was led by DBL Partners. The startup competes against Bird, Lime, Lyft, JUMP and others in the last mile transportation and on-demand market, but differentiates itself by offering up electric powered bicycles, rather than scooters, to its users.

SpaceX Plans Another 30,000 Starlink Satellites

Hawthorne-based SpaceX has applied to deploy an additional 30,000 Starlink satellites , in addition to an existing 12,000 it has already gotten approval for from the Federal Communications Communications (FCC). The network of low-earth orbit satellites are intended to provide broadband for the entire globe. SpaceX has already deployed the first 60 of its satellites, in its first deployment of those satellites.
