Lynda.com's Parent Company, LinkedIn, Acquired By Microsoft

LinkedIn , the owner of Southern California's Lynda.com , is being acquired by Microsoft is a giant, $26.2 billion, all-cash deal, LinkedIn and Microsoft said this morning. According to the companies, Microsoft will pay $196 per share in cash for LinkedIn. LinkedIn bought Goleta-based Lynda.com in April of last year, paying $1.5 billion for Lynda.com.

San Dimas-based wireless router maker TP-LINK has rolled out a new, tri-band Wi-Fi router, called the Archer C5400, the company said this morning. According to TP-LINK, the new router is aimed at the online gaming market, allowing avid gamers to stream 4K video content and games at the fastest available Wi-Fi speeds. TP-LINK says its new Archer C5400 routers have the ability to stream at up to 5400Mbps over one 2.4Ghz and two 5Ghz links, using MU-MIMO.

AiVita Biomedical Gets $2M

Irvine-based AiVita Biomedical , a biopharmaceuticals company focused on regenerative medicine, has raised $2M in a Series A financing. The funding came from California Technology Ventures. As part of the funding, Alex Suh of CTV will join the company's board of directors. AiVita Biomedical is led by Dr. Hans Keirstead, and is focused on stem cell-based skin care product which helps address several signs of aging, and a novel cancer immunotherapy applicable to multiple solid tumor types.
