Beyond Meat COO Reportedly Arrested Over Biting Incident


The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of El Segundo, California-based Beyond Meat has reportedly been arrested for biting a man's nose, according to Arkansas news reports. Cypress Creek Renewables Plans 45MW Worth Of Community Solar In Illinois


Santa Monica-based renewable energy developer Cypress Creek Renewables said this morning that it has agreed to develop and sell 45MW of community solar projects in Illinois to community solar operator Nexamp. Cypress Creek Renewables said the 45MW of Illinois solar projects are scheduled to be operational by Fall of 2023. The company did not say how much it will cost to build those solar projects.

Renogy Enters Home Energy Storage Market


Anaheim-based solar equipment provider Renogy says it is expanding beyond solar panels and inverters, and into the home energy storage market. According to the company, it has rolled out a number of home energy storage products, including the Lycan Power Box PRO, which offers 4.8kWh of energy storage and a 5,000 watt inverter, which can work either with or without solar power; and the Aura Hybrid Home Battery System, a modular whole home solar battery system.

Scratchpay Gets $35M


Pasadena-based Scratchpay, which originally provided pet health insurance, but now is expanding into healthcare in general, has raised $35M in its Series C funding, the company disclosed this morning. The Series C funding round was led by Norwest Venture Partners, and also included Alumni Ventures, Companion Fund, Struck Capital, SWS Venture Capital, TTV Capital, and others. The company says it has now raised over $108M in total. Scratchpay is led by founder and CEO John Keatley.

ImmunoScape Finds $24M From Amgen, Others


San Diego-based ImmunoScape, a biotech company which says it is focused on discovery and development of next-generation TCR-T-cell therapeutics, has raised $14M in a funding round. The funding was led by Anzu Partners, and also included Amgen Ventures and Singapore's EDBI. The company said it is focused on discovery and in-depth characterization of rare cancer-specific T-cells at high resolution, to help develop TCR-T-celll therapies for treatment of solid cancer tumors.
