Zynx Health Rolls Out API

Los Angeles-based Zynx Health , a developer of healthcare software and content, said this morning that it has opened up access to its content via a new API. The company said the Zynx Health API is aimed at third -party solution providers, allowing them to leverage its content to help healthcare organizations with delivery of patient care. Zynx said its API returns content using the standard, Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) format.

Social Web Startup Signs Deal with AP to Distribute Sports Scores

ScoreStream, a San Diego area startup providing a crowdsourced social media platform for reporting high school sports scores, said Thursday it has agreed to distribute high school game scores under a new collaboration agreement with The Associated Press. Under their agreement, this fall ScoreStream will begin distributing and publishing high school football scores across 42 states through the AP and other media networks (including ScoreStream’s own website).

Western Digital Claims Win In Court In Battle With Toshiba

Irvine-based Western Digital claimed a legal win in its ongoing battle with Toshiba , saying the California Court of Appeal has ruled in favor of its SanDisk subsidiary, and lifted a temporary restraining order (TRO) which had been granted to San Disk. Western Digital said the ruling prohibits Toshiba from preventing certain employees from accessing shared databases and servers and from refusing to ship certain engineering wafers and samples to the company in Milpitas.

Marcus Hutchins , the malware researchers who was credited with stopping the rampant "WannaCry" ransomware attack ealrier this year, has been arrested by the U.S. Department of Justice in Las Vegas. Hutchins is an employee of Los Angeles-based security research company Kryptos Logic. According to Motherboard , Hutchins was arrested for his "role in creating and distributing the Kronos banking Trojan", citing a spokesperson from the USDOJ.
