Torrance-based BQE said on Wednesday that it has received a "significant investment" from private equity investor Serent Capital. Financial details of the investment were not announced. Serent Capital is a private equity investor that invests in technology and tech-enabled software companies. BQE develops time billing and project management software for engineering and professional firms, including the architecture industry. The company was founded by Shafat Qazi in 1995.

Chipotle Invests In Autonomous Delivery Robot Maker Nuro

Newport Beach-based Chipotle Mexican Grill said this morning that it is making an investment in autonomous delivery robot maker Nuro, as part of Nuro's Series C funding round. Chipotle did not say how much it is investing in Nuro. According to Chipotle, the investment is the first significant investment in a third-party technology company it has made since Chairman and CEO Brian Niccol was appointed in 2018. Chipotle did not say if it plans on rolling out autonomous delivery from its stores.
