Piestro Pilots Pizza Robot In Vegas

El Segundo-based Piestro, which is developing automated, pizza making robots, said today that it is rolling out a pilot of its "Piestro Pod" piza robot at Capriotti's Sandwich Shop. The startup said that Capriotti's will run a pilot of its technology at its flagship Las Vegas location, and that Capriotti's intends to purchase up to 100 of the machines within five years, after the pilot. Piestro is backed by Wavemaker Partners, and is led by CEO Massimo Noja de Marco.

EV Mobility and Autonomy Partner On Tesla Deployment

Santa Monica-based Autonomy--the automotive subscription startup founded by auto- and tech-veterans Scott Painter and Georg Bauer--said this week that it is partnering with all-electric vehicle car-sharing platform EV Mobility. Millennium Space Systems Claims Success In Orbit

El Segundo-based Millenium Space Systems said it has successfully tested its technology in orbit, demonstrating a number of new, advanced satellite constellation technologies. Geno, Aquafil Demonstrate Plant-Based Nylon Production

San Diego-based Genomatica (Geno), a company developing biotechnology to produce nylon using plant-based materials, and its collaborator Aquafil, said they have completed a demonstration scale production run for its plant-based nylon. The company said that the plant-based nylon is being evaluated for use in yarns for textile and carpet and engineering plastics.
