Los Angeles-based streaming television provider Hulu , and streaming music provider Spotify have launched a new effort, which bundles both services together for just $9.99 a month, the two announced today. According to the two, it will offer up Hulu with all Spotify Premium accounts, giving access to Spotify's music, podcasts, and Hulu's TV and movies, all in a single bundle. The Hulu service included in the bundle is Hulu's commercially supported service.

Bird Cuts Five Percent Of Staff, Says Report

Santa Monica-based scooter rental service Bird has laid off approximately 5% of its full-time staff, according to a report on Thursday, in what has been attributed to an effort to "contain costs". The report said 40 people were laid off. The move follows similar cuts over at the scooter department of Lyft, which laid off approximately 50 people in its bicycle and scooter operations, just ahead of an expected IPO filing.

Heal: Survey Shows Higher Patient Satisfaction, Better Results From House Calls

Western Digital Rolls Out New NVMe SSD

Report: Jam City's Harry Potter Game Reaches $110M In Spending

A new report, from market analysis firm Sensor Tower, says that Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery , the Harry Potter-themed mobile game developed by Los Angeles-based JamCity , has now collected $110M in player spending, in less than a year. The report says that the title is now Jam City's most lucrative title, representing 30 percent of its revenues across the App Store and Google Play.

Report: Call Of Duty Franchises Priced At $25M Per Team

Santa Monica-based streaming television service Hulu said Wednesday morning that it has acquired the streaming rights to the documentary Free Solo , which highlights rock climber Alex Honnold as he prepares to climb--without ropes--El Capitan, the 3,200 foot peak in Yosemite National Park. According to Hulu, the documentary will begin streaming today on Hulu. Financial details of the streaming deal, which was inked with National Geographic Documentary films, were not announced.

Flint Rehab Finds $1.72M In Grant Funding

Irvine-based Flint Rehab , which is developing neuro-rehabilitation devices for treating stroke and traumatic brain injury (TBI), said it has received $1.72M in a grant funding. The grant came from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), one of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Flint Rehab says it has now received close to $8M in total funding from the NIH.

Weedmaps Sets New CEO

Irvine-based Weedmaps , a provider of cannabis delivery services and cannabis dispensary information, said on Tuesday that it has named Chris Beals as its Chief Executive Officer. Beals previously was President and General Counsel of the company, which he joined in August of 2015. Current CEO Doug Francis becomes Chairman of the company. Beals also will join the board. Francis co-founded Weedmaps with co-founder Justin Hartfield in 2008.

EDF Renewables Puts Wind Project Online In Minnesota

San Diego-based renewable energy developer EDF Renewables North America says it has put new, 100 megawatt (MW) wind project online in Minnesota. According to EDF Renewables, the Stoneray Wind Project, based in Pipestone and Murray counties in Southwestern Minnesota, will be delivering power to the Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (SMMPA) beginning in 2020 under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
