Boring Company Wins $1 Billion Chicago Transport System Deal

Chicago has selected Los Angeles-based Boring Company , the tunnel-transportation-hat-and-flamethrower company run by tech mogul Elon Musk, for a $1 billion transportation system. Chicago major Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced the win on Thursday, saying the system will connect people from downtown Chicago to O'Hare International Airport at 150 miles per hour.

PolyCera Membranes Gets $9M For Wastewater Treatment Membranes

Los Angeles-based PolyCera Membranes , a developer of membrane technology used for industrial wastewater treatment, has raised $9M in a Series A funding, according to the company. The funding was led by Kairos Ventures and also included Bluestem Capital and the Wolfen Group. PolyCera, led by CEO Simon Marshall, said the funding will go to build out its global manufacturing, R&D and sales capabilities.
