Marshall founded El Monte-based Marshall Industries , a multi-billion dollar electronics distributor which is now part of Avnet. One of Southern California's very, very early technology pioneers, Gordon Marshall , whose name now graces the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business , has passed away at the age of 95 in Pasadena. Marshall founded Marshall Industries in 1953. Marshall Industries was sold to Avnet in 1999.

American Reliance Power Acquired By AMETEK


The El Monte, California-based Power Division of American Reliance (AMREL Power), has been acquired by Pennsylvania firm AMETEK , AMETEK announced Thursday. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. AMREL Power is a provider of direct current (DC) power supplies and loads for the automated test equipment market. AMETEK said that AMREL Power will become part of its San Diego-based Programmable Power Division.
