Source of the new funding for the company was not disclosed. The investment came from three investors, according to the filing.

Marshall founded El Monte-based Marshall Industries , a multi-billion dollar electronics distributor which is now part of Avnet. One of Southern California's very, very early technology pioneers, Gordon Marshall , whose name now graces the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business , has passed away at the age of 95 in Pasadena. Marshall founded Marshall Industries in 1953. Marshall Industries was sold to Avnet in 1999.

American Reliance Power Acquired By AMETEK

The El Monte, California-based Power Division of American Reliance (AMREL Power), has been acquired by Pennsylvania firm AMETEK , AMETEK announced Thursday. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. AMREL Power is a provider of direct current (DC) power supplies and loads for the automated test equipment market. AMETEK said that AMREL Power will become part of its San Diego-based Programmable Power Division.

Solarmer Ties With Artistic Glass Firm

El Monte-based Solarmer , the UCLA spinout which is developing flexible photovoltaic power technology, is in a deal to provide its technology to an artist glass design studio, Joel Berman Glass Studios. According to the two firms, Solarmer Energy and Joel Berman Glass Studios are in a joint development project, where the two developed a decorative glass panel which can general clean renewable energy.
