Raytheon Moves Headquarters From El Segundo

In what is not a surprise for Southern California''s shift away from the industry, defense contractor Raytheon said Thursday that it is shutting down its business headquarters locations in El Segundo, and moving its Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) business headquarters to McKinney, Texas. Raytheon said the move is part of an effort to streamline operations, increase productivity, and to "achieve stronger alignment" with its customers.

ConsumerTrack Expands In El Segundo, Ramps Hiring

Los Angeles-based ConsumerTrack , the operator of GoBankingRates.com and other personal finance content and lead generation sites, said today that it is expanding its headquarters in El Segundo. According to ConsumerTrack, it has moved into a new office wich has room for over 100 employees, and which also includes a custom gym and video studio to expand its production facilities.

Kite Pharma Opens New Facility In El Segundo

Santa Monica-based biopharmaceuticals developer Kite Pharma has opened up a new, 43,500 square foot manufacturing facility in El Segundo, the company said today, to manufacture its cancer immunotherapy products. According to Kite Pharma, the new facility will support production of its chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) and T-cell receptor (TCR) product candidates for clinical trials, along with commercial launch of its lead T-cell product candidate, KTE-C19.

Swagbucks Taps Shopzilla's Weinrot As COO

Accordent Acquired By Polycom

Accordent provides products for streaming live webcasts, webcasting meetings and classes, and similar enterprise video streaming applications.

Mattel Partners With Stardoll

El Segundo-based toy maker Mattel has inked a licensing agreement with online fashion game maker Stardoll , Stardoll announced today. Stardoll runs an online fashion virtual world for teen and tween girls. Financial details of the licensing deal were not disclosed.

DIRECTV, Panasonic Fund 3D Films

El Segundo-based satellite TV operator DIRECTV and consumer electronics firm Panasonic said Tuesday that the two will be funding six 3D films, as part of an effort to train filmmakers on 3D equipment. The companies said they will provide filmmakers with Panasonic 3D cameras, 3D monitors, storage, access to DIRECTV's post production facilities, as well as an unspecified production budget in the effort.

International Rectifier Buys CHiL Semiconductor

PCM Opens New Data Center In Ohio

PCM said the new data center is on 7.9 acres of land it purchase back in December of 2012.

GoGuardian Takes On Chromebook Management For Schools
